Aamir Khan's Dangal has done stupendous collection at the overseas box office and became the first Indian film to surpass the Rs 1,000 crore mark in international markets.
The Nitesh Tiwari-directed sports drama was released in over 40+ international markets on December 23, 2016. Dangal collected Rs 82.71 crore in North America, Rs 52.59 crore in the UAE/GCC, Rs 21.45 crore in the UK, Rs 13.48 crore in Australia, Rs 3.16 crore in New Zealand, Rs 7.56 crore in other foreign countries. The movie raked in approximately Rs 180.96 crore at the overseas box office in the lifetime.
Five months after this, the Aamir Khan starrer was released in a record number of screens across Taiwan and China on May 2 and has done fantastic collections in both these foreign markets. Dangal has collected approximately Rs 32.34 crore at the Taiwan box office in 24 days. The distributors are yet to reveal the details of its collections on its third Wednesday.

On its 27th day, Dangal has collected Rs 17.62 crore at the China box office, taking its total collection to Rs 793 crore in the country. Ramesh Bala, another film trade analyst, tweeted: "#Dangal collects $2.73 M [₹ 17.62 Crs ] for Wed, May 24th.. Total now stands at $122.79 M [₹ 792.61 Crs]"
Dangal has collected a total of Rs 1,006.30 crore gross at the overseas box office. It has become the first Indian movie to cross the mark of Rs 1,000 crore gross in the international markets. Aamir Khan's PK collected Rs 308 crore at the overseas box office and it was the highest grossing film in the international markets. Now, it has landed in the second place, while Baahubali 2 stands at the third rank with its collection at Rs 295 crore.
