Aamir Khan's Dangal has shattered the total collection of Baahubali 2 (Bahubali 2: The Conclusion) at the worldwide box office and inched closer to another historic mark - Rs. 1,700 crore gross.
After doing good business for four weeks, the SS Rajamouli-directed historic fiction movie saw a steep decline in its numbers in the fifth week. Baahubali 2 is estimated to have collected over Rs. 15 crore gross at the worldwide box office on its fifth Friday and Saturday and its 30-day total collection has reached Rs. 1,620 crore mark in the global market.
On the other hand, the Aamir Khan starrer has continued its rocking run in China on its fourth week. Dangal collected Rs. 18.33 crore at the China box office on its fourth Saturday, taking its 23-day total to Rs. 844 crore in the country. Ramesh Bala, an observer from the industry, tweeted: "On (Saturday, May 27th) #Dangal collects $ 2.84 Million [₹ 18.33 Crs] in #China. 23 Days Total at $ 130.90 Million. [₹ 844.83 Crs]."
With this Dangal has collected a total of Rs. 1,622 crore gross at the worldwide box office. It has topped the chart of all time highest grossing Indian movies, beating Baahubali 2 with a small margin. Ramesh Bala added: #Dangal @ WW BO GBOC (Till May 27th 2017): #China - ₹ 845 Crs #Taiwan - ₹ 32 Crs RoW - ₹ 745 Crs Total - ₹ 1,622 Crs."
Considering its current pace of collection, Dangal will easily collect another Rs. 55 crore at China box office in the coming days and surpass the mark of Rs. 900 in the country in its lifetime. The movie is also expected to become the first Indian movie to cross Rs. 1,700 crore mark in the global market.
Meanwhile, the pace of Baahubali 2 shows it may not cross the mark of Rs.1,700 crore. However, the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer is set to be released in China and few other countries in the coming days and it will definitely overtake the collection of Dangal.
