Aamir Khan's Dangal is an important film and the satellite rights deal the makers have landed for it will prove why. According to reports, the satellite rights of Dangal have been sold to Zee Television for a whopping Rs. 75 crore. With Dangal, the senior star has broken his own record; satellite rights of Dhoom 3 were sold for Rs. 65 crore.
However, there's a twist to the story. The bargain is that makers of Dangal will receive Rs. 55 crore for now and the remaining amount if and when the sports-drama film manages to make it to the coveted Rs. 100 crore club.
"He minimum guarantee in this deal is Rs 55 crore, while the rest Rs 20 crore will be given if and when the film crosses Rs 100 crore mark," a source informed SpotboyE. Meanwhile, an insider told the entertainment portal that the channel has faith in Khan's film, adding that they are certain Dangal will make good money.
"We have immense faith in Aamir's films and Dangal is no exception. We are very happy to associate ourselves with Dangal. Going by the trailer, the film is looking very good and there is no reason why it should not be a superhit," the source further elaborated.
In fact, Ormax Media has predicted the film will rake in Rs. 24 crore and above at the domestic circuit on day 1.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has left Khan nervous. But the pre-release buzz around it is positive and right from the trailers to the music and dialogue promos are looking great and promising.
Scheduled to be released on December 23, Dangal stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in key roles.
