The collection of Aamir Khan's Dangal crossed Rs. 300 crore mark at the China box office on its 9th day. With this, the movie has become the second Indian film to surpass Rs. 1000 crore mark after Baahubali 2.
Released in 9,000 screens on May 5, Dangal made record breaking collection at the China box office in its opening week. When everyone thought its dream run might slow down in the second week, the movie surprised by faring better on its second Friday than its opening day. Its performance on the second Saturday in China left B-Town stunned.
Dangal showed 119 percent growth and collected $13.66 million (Rs. 87.66 crore) at the China box office on its second Saturday. It is the highest single day collection for any Indian movie in the country. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Dangal mania grips China... Is SENSATIONAL on Sat... Grosses an UNIMAGINABLE $ 13.66 million [₹ 87.66 cr] in a *single* day..."
Dangal collected $11.30 million (Rs. 72.68 crore) at the China box office in its opening weekend and raked in $19.87 million on its second Friday and Saturday. This is a clear proof for how word of mouth can multiply the numbers. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Dangal - CHINA - Week 2 [updated]... Fri: $ 6.21 million Sat: $ 13.66 million 9-day total: $ 46.98 million [₹ 301.50 cr] EPIC BLOCKBUSTER!"
The Aamir Khan starrer has not just crossed Rs. 300 crore mark at the China box office, but is also headed to smash the lifetime collection record at Indian box office. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Now digest this fact... #Dangal *lifetime biz* in China will be MUCH, MUCH HIGHER than its *lifetime biz* in India [₹ 387.38 cr]... Shocked?"
Released in theatres on December 23, 2016, Dangal collected Rs. 730 crore in India and international markets in its lifetime. Good business at the China box office has helped Aamir Khan's Dangal to become the second Indian movie to enter the Rs.1000 crore club after Baahubali 2. Dangal's gross total now stands at Rs. 1,031 crore.
