"Dancing with the Stars" returns Monday to ABC with a whole new set of celebrities who have been working relentlessly to hone their dancing skills these past few weeks.
The first episode of the season will be a two-hour special that will see each couple dancing a cha cha, Fox trot, jive, tango or a quickstep in a bid to impress the judges as well as the American audience. There will not be an elimination in the first week.
Here are a few interesting facts about Season 22:
Athlete-heavy: Season 22 of "Dancing with the Stars" features the most number of NFL players ever to appear on the show. Antonio Brown, Doug Flutie and Von Miller are vying for the Mirror Ball Trophy this year. "It wasn't planned as such," executive producer Rob Wade told TVGuide. "We obviously look for people with different careers… [The players] are very different people, but we liked them all individually."
Unscripted moments: This year will feature a lot more interviews and behind-the-scene shots that will help viewers get an insight into the personality of the stars.
