Tanay Malhara has been crowed the winner of Dance+ Season 2. The grand finale of the reality dance show was held on Sunday, September 25, and 14-year-old Tanay, who hails from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, walked away with a trophy, prize money of Rs 25 lakh, and a car.
Tanay beat Piyush Bhagat, Sushant Khatri and the Wild Rippers team in the finale to win the trophy. "Winning this show was a very big surprise. I didn't know so many people out there have been supporting me. Most importantly, Dharmesh sir has supported me throughout and I dedicate my win to him," Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) quoted Tanay as saying.
The show, which is telecast on Star Plus channel, was judged by choreographer-director Remo D'Souza, along with the captains, Shakti Mohan, Dharmesh Yelande and Punit J Pathak, who mentored the contestants. Tanay expressed his gratitude to Shakti and Punit for motivating him throughout his journey on Dance+ Season 2. "The shining moment was when they all said, 'Being a 14-year old boy, you deserve to be the next dance icon of the nation'," Tanay added.
The finale was a grand affair and saw Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor making an appearance to promote his upcoming film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Rio Olympics bronze medal-winning wrestler Sakshi Malik was also a part of the grand finale and was seen motivating the contestants. Ranbir proposed to Sakshi on stage, thereby raising the entertainment quotient of the finale episode of Dance+ Season 2. Remo also stunned the viewers with an amazing dance performance.
