It has only been a few weeks since Abby Lee Miller Dance Company (ALDC) welcomed Maddie Ziegler into their midst. However, her entry is almost alongside the exit of another important member of ALDC. If you are wondering who this is, it is the dance coach herself.
Fans of the show would know Abby Lee Miller is embroiled in a legal case, but her absence from "Dance Moms" has nothing to do with it. The dance coach revealed her reasons in a newsletter.
According to Abby Lee Miller, her ongoing battle with the show's producers has compelled her to sign off from the reality dance competition. She said she cannot abide by the producers' unmanageable demands, the latest of which included portraying a teen pregnancy on stage.
"When a grown man tells me he wants one of my kids to portray a pregnant teen and wear a baby bump — I have to put my foot down. If that means not moving my foot and not working and getting fined in the process, well that's a risk I am willing to take to protect my girls. I am always teaching principles, integrity, and values in addition to dance technique. It is important for me that the girls learn to stand up and fight for what they believe in," she said.
While the dance coach is embroiled in an ongoing feud, her dance team won prizes for group and solo performances. Dance prodigy Maddie Ziegler was part of the group dance performance, but it was her sister, Mackenzie who won the first place in the junior division for her solo performance of "Can't Hold my Fire", according to a news report.
"Dance Moms" Season 6 is expected to premiere on 5 January, 2016, on Lifetime.
