Kang Daesung, the BIGBANG member best known by his stage names Daesung and D-Lite, turns 28 on Tuesday, April 26. Despite his many nick names including Kim Jong Gook, his favourite one is Smiling Angel and he decided to become a singer after listening to Stevie Wonder.
There are more interesting facts about Daesung, which we have compiled in celebration of the singer's birthday:
- Despite his tenure with BIGBANG, Daesung has released solo singles in South Korea and Japan. In fact, his first album "D'Scover" ranked second and the next two albums "D'solve" and "Delight" ranked first on Japan's Oricon Albums Daily and Weekly.
- It is evident from the names of his albums, he has a style of his own and he likes to call it D'Style.
- Daesung has admitted that he would take fellow BIGBANG member T.O.P on a date if he were a girl.
- He loves to make his fans laugh by making jokes on stage. In fact, he thinks he looks his best when he does those shenanigans.

Currently, Daesung and the rest of BIGBANG are busy with their world tour China, which started in March this year. Another tour in Japan titled "Fantastic Babys 2016" started in April.
A new set of concerts have also been announced, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of BIGBANG debut. The first couple of them will be held at the Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, Japan on July 30 and 31.
