Fashion designer Victoria Beckham told Vogue that she sat her four children down and assured them that her marriage with David Beckham is strong and all allegations of David cheating with his 26-year-old personal assistant Rebecca Loos are false. "Daddy is not a cheat," she told her kids,
Victoria, 44, and David, 43, went through a rough patch in their relationship as allegations of David cheating on Victoria surfaced. There were rumours about the couple splitting up after a huge fight. But the former Spice Girls singer denied all the speculations.
The couple had to address the false claims about their split to their children, Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, and Cruz, 12, and daughter Harper, 7, and reassure them about their marriage.
Victoria gave an interview to Vogue that was primarily supposed to be about her 10 years as a fashion designer. The mother of four took this opportunity to talk about the false claims about her split with David.
"Allegations about the state of their marriage and ridiculous claims about David are extremely hurtful, and obviously potentially very distressing for the kids. Whilst publicly they maintained a united front by laughing off the rumours, behind closed doors they've taken them much more seriously," said a close friend of the Beckhams to The Sun.
The couple has open conversations with their children and they had to have a discussion about the rumours going around on social media. "They sat the children down and addressed these horrific, hurtful whispers. Both David and Victoria are very transparent with the kids to ensure they hear things directly from them — and not from the playground. After the latest furore, they once again took the decision to be open and honest with them, reassuring them Daddy is not a cheat," the source added.
