The trailer of the much-awaited comedy drama "Daawat-e-Ishq" starring Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur is finally out.
Directed by Habib Faisal, the film is set in Hyderabad and features Gulrez "Gullu" Qadir (Chopra), who is a disillusioned Hyderabadi girl and Tariq "Taru" Haidar (Kapur), a Lucknawi cook, who can lure anyone with his delicious recipes.
The movie will see both Chopra and Kapur pairing for the first time and though the trailer looks funny, sweet and foody, it lacks spice between the on-screen couple.
The trailer starts with Gulrez, who is looking for a perfect groom but ends up meeting dowry-seeking men. Chopra is seen as her usual self - loud, bubbly and desi. The film also features Anupam Kher playing Chopra's father. Kher does complete justice to his character with his beard look.
From the two minute trailer, it appears that the talented Kapur has once again nailed his performance after "Aashiqui 2". Kapur in the movie, plays a chef from Lucknow and with his colorful look and perfect Lucknawi accent, he excels in overshadowing his co-star Chopra. The movie is a must watch for Kapur's expressions and dialogue delivery.
The story appears to revolve around the lovebirds, thus portraying another ordinary love saga from YRF. However, the story doesn't of course end ordinarily, but with a twist.
"Daawat-e-Ishq" also features television actor, Karan Wahi in a supporting role. The title track promo in the trailer is charming, thus promising a good composition by music maestro Sajid-Wajid. The movie is produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films (YRF) and directed by Faisal, who shot to fame with his movies, "Ishaqzaade" and "Do Dooni Chaar". "Daawat-e-Ishq" is set to hit the theaters on 5 September.
This is the second time Chopra is working with Faisal after her debut film "'Ishaqzaade", released in 2012 and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The film received positive feedback from critics and also managed to do well in the box office.
Whether "Daawat-e-Ishq" lives upto the expectation of movie goers or not is not known, but the trailer reminds one of Chopra's character from romantic flick, "Shuddh Desi Romance."
