Chennai, Oct 07 (ANI): The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday rejected former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa bail plea in connection with an 18-year-old disproportionate assets case, days after a trial court had sent her to four-years in prison.
Earlier it was reported by various media that she had been given conditional bail based on the comment by the public prosecutor that he would not be opposed to it. In the morning, the Karnataka High Court had rejected advocate Ram Jethmalani's request for an early hearing of Jayalalithaa's bail plea, saying the hearing would take place according to the number allotted to the case. Meanwhile, AIADMK supporters protested outside Jayalalithaa's residence in Chennai.
