North Korea has claimed that it has developed a wonder drug, made from ginseng, which can cure some of the deadliest diseases in the world like AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome), SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) and Ebola.
The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has claimed that Korea Pugang Pharmaceutic Co. Ltd has developed Kumdang-2 Injection, which can cure immune system-related diseases easily.
"The researchers insert rare earth elements (REE) into insam (ginseng) by applying the micro-elementary fertilizers of REE to the fields of insam. Inside the herbal body of insam the REE had got combined with the saccharides into desired complex compounds," Dr Jon Sung Hun, Diretor of Korea Pugang Pharmaceutic Co. Ltd, told KCNA.
"The injection is made of extracts from those complex compounds," he added. "As a strong immuno-activator, the injection has been recognized to prevent different malignant epidemics."
A website on the drug has claimed that it is extracted from the medicinal plant ginseng and has no side effects.
"Kumdang-2 Injection is a herbal medicine extracted from Kaesong Koryo insam (ginseng) cultivated in Kaesong DPR Korea by applying rare-earth molecular fertilizer. It contains insam saccharides, light rare earth elements, a micro-quantities of gold and platinum," reported Kumdang2.
Ginseng root has been used for centuries as a drug to treat poor immune system, diabetes, cancer, erectile dysfunction, hepatitis, high blood pressure, and several other diseases. North Korea has now claimed that it has made a drug out of this medicinal plant to cure some of the deadliest diseases on earth, but it has failed to provide any evidence of its effectiveness.
It may be recalled that North Korea, the impoverished communist state ruled by supreme leader Kim Jong-un, had earlier mentioned the same drug when bird flu broke out in 2006 and 2013, then restricted tourists from entering the country for six long months in an attempt to avoid Ebola disease.
