With Arsenal's all-time Premier League winning record slowly coming into view, Chelsea will want to make it 11 straight wins when they make the short trip to play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Chelsea are sitting pretty at the top, and if they manage to beat Palace, their lead at the top will rise to nine points.
That is more than enough motivation for Antonio Conte's men to pick up a win over Palace, who have had a dreadful 2016 and sit just three points above the relegation zone.
After conceding a late goal to Manchester United, which saw them lose at least a point, Alan Pardew will be under pressure to find a way to stop the Chelsea juggernaut. Finding a way through the Chelsea three-man central defence is a difficult proposition, though, considering the Blues have conceded just two goals in that ten-match winning run and never more than one in a game.
And when you have the quality of the likes of Diego Costa, who has been fantastic this season, Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian to call on in the final third, Chelsea really do become a scary team to play against.
"It's a system he knows very well, he's coached that system so he's got it pretty nailed down, but they've still got world-class players," Pardew said.
"Don't think it's about this, or that. The manager's done a great job but the world-class players are at the top of their game. And the best thing he's done is not the system, he's man-managed those people to perform better. Hazard and Costa are a different proposition this year, and they'll be the first to admit that."
Palace, though, have scored plenty of goals this season and that will give Pardew some hope of a positive result. Their defence, however, has been a big problem, and considering the quality Chelsea have going forward, this could turn out to be a nightmare match for Crystal Palace.
It has been the opposite of nightmare for the Blues since a nightmarish defeat to Arsenal, with Antonio Conte being showed with praises for this system and tactics. More of the same will be the Italian's message to the players.
"We started without great ambition from the people," Conte said. "This season is very difficult for us, but until now we are doing very well and we are a great surprise for many people. Now it's important to continue to be this great surprise.
"We have great motivation to take three points, this is the most important thing for us. Then if we continue to win it's fantastic. We will try for sure to win the game."
