A white West Highland Terrier took the overall title of Best in Show at the world-renowned Crufts dog show 2016 on 13 March. Geordie Girl, also known as Devon, claimed the crown in the 125th year of the show, ahead of six other finalists. Owner Marie Burns scooped up and hugged her perfectly-groomed dog when the judge made his choice and said winning felt unreal.
To win Best in Show, I dont think you can find the words to describe it, its just unreal, you know. I mean I think its every dog show exhibitors dream, to be standing here, and you just dont think its ever going to happen to you, and I dont think it will sink it til I watch it on TV, said Burns, who hails from County Durham.
More than 22,000 dogs took part in the four-day Kennel Club competition at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.
