Real Madrid president Florentino Perez might reportedly sell Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to Paris St-Germain or Gareth Bale to Manchester United in order to land two of the most promising stars in the English Premier League.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho have been lined up as potential targets by the La Liga giants, the Sunday Times has reported, and the Belgian hotshot Hazard is also identified by Perez as an ideal fit at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Hazard, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2020, joined Chelsea in 2012, and became an instant hit with his impressive performances. The attacking midfielder was named the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Young Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year in 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively.
The 24-year-old, who was one of the key players for Jose Mourinho's side as the Blues lifted the Premier League and the League Cup last season, has also found a place in the PFA Team of the Year for three straight seasons.
Meanwhile, Coutinho, who signed for Liverpool in 2013 from Inter Milan, has turned out to be a star player at Anfield. The Brazilian, who plays in a similar style as that of Hazard, had a superlative last season under Brendan Rodgers, as he clinched the Liverpool Fans Player of the Year award as well as the Liverpool Players' Player of the Year award.
The 23-year-old, who missed just three Premier League games for the Reds last season, has scored once and assisted twice from his six English league outings this season.
Both the players have proved themselves in the English top-flight, and Perez, who has spearheaded the world-record transfers for Ronaldo and Bale previously, feels the need to sign another "Galactico".
Real Madrid have a total of ten European titles, but they haven't won a trophy after the 2013-14 season, and that has come as a worry of sorts for the Los Blancos supremo.
Real are currently third in the La Liga table, just a place below Barcelona. The Madrid giants shared spoils against Malaga after a goalless draw at the weekend.
Meanwhile, both Manchester United and PSG showed their interest for the Ronaldo in the summer transfer window gone by, just like the previous transfer seasons, and it is also reported that the French giants had a bid of £87.3m rejected by Real Madrid for the Portuguese superstar.
However, PSG are now willing come back with a mind-boggling £250m package for the Portugal skipper, according to the report.
United also reportedly made an bid of around €100m on transfer deadline day to sign former Tottenham star Bale, but the offer was rejected by the La Liga giants.
