England have been humiliatingly knocked out of the 2015 Cricket World Cup at the first hurdle after losing by 15 runs to Bangladesh. Eoin Morgans men failed to qualify from the group stage after winning only one of their first five matches against Scotland and now face the ignominy of a dead rubber tie against Afghanistan in their final group game.
So where did it all go wrong for England? Should captain Eoin Morgan, coach Peter Moores or the England and Wales Cricket Board itself take the blame for a miserable tournament that has seen England look second-best throughout?
Also, where will England go from this debacle? Whilst England are set to play relatively few one day internationals after the World Cup, they are due to host the Ashes in the summer against fierce rivals Australia and will be hoping to repair the damage of a 5-0 whitewash they suffered down under over the winter of 2013-2014.
IBTimes UK sport editor Nick Howson analyses why England were so bad during the World Cup, who ultimately lies at fault for such a poor tournament and what the England Cricket Board needs to do in order to recover from this disaster.
