The London Marathon had its usual mix of serious athletes and runners dressed in unusual costumes for the annual event on 26 April.
One couple even decided to get married halfway through, stopping off in St Katharine Docks by the Tower of London to say their vows, before continuing with the race.
South Londoners Paul Elliot and Laura Harvey exchanged their vows in front on 80 guests about 12.45pm.
Others dressed up as giraffes, superheroes and even Doctor Whos Tardis – and most would have done so for charity.
As of September last year, the total raised for charity since Virgin Money took over as title sponsors of the annual 26.2 mile race in 2010, stood at £264.1m ($430.9m), exceeding Virgins own ambitious target.
Sundays race was won by Kenyas Eliud Kipchoge, who finishing in just two hours, four minutes and 42 seconds, beat last years winner Wilson Kipsang by just five seconds.
