Outstanding comedian Kapil Sharma is on cloud nine, having been approached by Yash Raj Films.
The entertainer is set to star in YRF's heist film "Bank-Chor," which will start rolling this April. For the comedian, the leap from small to big screen looks promising, given the prestigious production house backing his debut film.
With this, Kapil is likely to tone down his work scale in the popular "Comedy Nights with Kapil," by a margin. At a situation like this, the most intriguing question that emerges is whether the show will withstand Kapil's minimized presence.
However, since the show is also the actor's maiden production and rightfully his career launcher, it is possible that accurate adjustments will be made so that the audiences will not be in a lurch.
Meanwhile, the development could prove to be a boon for Sunil Grover and his show "Mad in India."
The new show was met with lukewarm audience response and even received flak for its copied format and lousy comic timings upon its premiere. Even Grover's portrayal of Chutki failed to impress the audience, who found it to be a lame version of the popular Gutthi of "CNWK."
At such a situation, Grover and his team can work their way to top if the show's team manages to cook up hilarious and satiating content. The need of the hour for Grover is originality and conviction, with which he donned various comic avatars in "CNWK".
After all, Kapil and Grover's popularity as comedians is almost at par. And at a point like this the "Gutthi' actor holds a good chance to bounce back if he reworks himself to his basics.
