Overview

The 1-1 draw on Sunday night did not cost the Catalans their top spot, thanks to Sevilla who held second-placed Atletico Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Vicente Calderon. However, it did help Real Madrid catch up as the Meringues are now just one point below the top two.

Barcelona will now be determined to post an impressive run of results, starting tonight, as they look to stay on top in all three competitions. However, after the weekend's game, the league leaders know how difficult it is to beat Levante's deep-lying defensive system, as Sunday's goalscorer Gerard Pique points out.

"I think the game on Wednesday will be similar. They'll close themselves off at the back, it's not the first time they've played like that against us. It wasn't a great day, we wanted to win but it wasn't meant to be. We don't feel bad because we created chances - we just didn't convert them," the Spain international explained.

Levante, on the other hand, are undefeated in their last three matches at home, winning two.  Les Granotes are currently 11th in the league, eight points clear of drop zone, and will fancy their chances of getting another positive result against La Liga champions at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia tonight, especially after Sunday's game.
