As Copa America 2015 moves into the quarter-finals stage, one would believe that it has already been an eventful tournament.
Twelve nations were competing against each other at the start of the tournament and now it is down to the last eight who would battle it out for the four semi-final spots.
At the end of the group stages of the South American tournament, four teams that have been knocked out are Mexico, Jamaica, Ecuador and Venezuela. Colombia and Uruguay made their way into the knockout stages as the two third best placed teams in the group stages.
As a result, Colombia will have to face one of the strong contenders of the tournament Argentina in the third quarter-final of Copa America 2015 and Uruguay will have to play the host nation Chile in the first game in the quarter-final.
Peru will take on Bolivia in the second quarter-final game and Brazil wil lock horns with Paraguay in the final game of the stage.
Meanwhile, Brazil will have to continue with their Copa America 2015 campaign without their star footballer Neymar, who has been banned for four international matches after he saw a red card post the match against Colombia.
Chile's Arturo Vidal, who is the top goal scorer of the tournament at the moment, was in the news when he slammed his Ferrari into a footpath while driving under the influence of alcohol. Later, he apologised and was let off by the police.
The quarter-finals begin on 24 June and one can expect an action-packed knockout stages with the way things have panned out this tournament.
