Copa America 2015 has reached the final stage of the tournament, in which two nations, Argentina and Chile, will be battling it out for the title on 4 July in Santiago.
The road to the final has been quite different for both the teams. Argentina did not concede a goal after their first match against Paraguay. But they conceded one against the same side in the semi-final after thumping the opponents with six goals.
Their margin of victories were narrow against most of their opponents. Their colossal striker Lionel Messi has managed to find the back of the net only once ahead of the final. One would expect many more goals from a line-up, which has the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Javier Pastore, Angel di Maria, Gonzalo Higuain and Messi. Gerrardo Martino has a lot of firepower under his belt and he would want them to fire at the big stage.
Argentina exploded in the semi-final against Paraguay and their defence line also looks solid in the hands of Marcus Rojo, Nicolas Otamendi, Ezequiel Garay and Pablo Zabaleta. The mid-field looks secured with Pastore operating from the left wing and and Biglia from the right. The central mid-field is in the able hands of Javier Mascherano.
Meanwhile, Chile would be looking to win the Copa America title for the first time ever since its inception and end their long wait of glory in front of their home crowd. The crowd will be right behind the home side during the final and for sure, La Roja will not be an easy side to beat. They have only drawn one game in this tournament so far and cruised through the rest.
Chile's Jorge Sampaoli too has a lot of star players in his side, capable of rising up to the big occasion. Alexis Sanchez, who had a wonderful season with Arsenal, has not fired yet in this tournament. Arturo Vidal, on the other hand, has managed to find the back of the net thrice in this tournament and he is definitely in good touch. Mauricio Isla will be an important player who would look to guard the Chilean box together with other defenders. Eduardo Vargas was phenomenal in the semi-final against Peru. His brace sent the host nation sailing into the final of the Copa America 2015 final.
The third-place match will be played on 3 July between Peru and Paraguay. Both the teams have played promising football till they suffered their respective defeats in the hands of Chile and Argentina in the semi-final of the Copa America 2015.
