Director Rajesh has removed a controversial scene from his upcoming film "All in All Azhaguraja" (AAA), starring Karthi and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead.
The teaser of "AAA" showed comedian Santhanam imitating a character in the anti-tobacco campaign video. The scene involves Karthi asking Santhanam for cigarettes, when the comedian reminds him about a character in the anti-tobacco awareness video in a funny manner.
This scene did not go down well with the Tamil Nadu People's Forum for Tobacco Control (TNPFTC), which sent a letter to the Tamil Nadu health secretary seeking a ban on the teaser. When the film was screened for the censor board members, they had apparently asked the director to remove that particular scene. Director Rajesh has acted upon the request and has cut that portion from "AAA", reported the Times of India.
Confirming the news, Rajesh told the daily, "Yes, the censor board asked us to remove the scene, and so, we have chopped it out of the film. The film has many entertaining elements, and we do not want to carry a scene if it offends someone by chance. We have got a U certificate and now, we are looking forward to the film's release."
"AAA", deemed as a full-fledged family entertainer, is all set to hit the screens on 2 November, two days after Ajith's "Arrambam" (31 October) and a day after Vishal's "Pandiya Nadu" (1 November). Besides Karthi, Kajal and Santhanam, the film boasts of a big star cast including veteran actor Prabhu, Saranya Ponvannan, Radhika Apte, M. S. Bhaskar, Aadukalam Naren and Sri Ranjini in supporting roles.
The Karthi starrer will reportedly have a grand release in more than 300 screens across the globe. The film is produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja of studio green banner and its music has been composed by Thaman of "Osthe" fame.
