It's confirmed that Varun Dhawan will step into Salman Khan's shoes for "Judwaa 2". The actor posted a photo of himself with "Judwaa 2" caption that confirmed the reports.
David Dhawan, who helmed the original film, will direct the sequel starring his son Varun in a double role. Sajid Nadiadwala, who produced the original film, will turn producer once again for the sequel.
Rumours of "Judwaa 2" going on floors have been doing the rounds since 2012. Earlier, Sajid Khan was supposed to direct the film starring Saif Ali Khan. However, the project never took off and now father-son duo David and Varun will work on the sequel.
The look test of the film has been done in Los Angeles, US, and the pre-production work of the film has already begun, The Times of India reports. Hollywood stuntman Spiro Razatos of "Fast & Furious 6" fame has done a test shoot for "Judwaa 2". Also, the makers have shot a skydiving action scene, using a stand-in artiste to depict a double role, TOI reports.
Now that the lead actor has been finalised, rumours about the two leading ladies in the film will start doing the rounds.
The original film "Judwaa", which was released in 1997, became a huge hit at the time. The film had Salman in double role and actresses Karisma Kapoor and Rambha opposite him.
Meanwhile, with "Judwaa 2" Varun has joined the league of Bollywood celebs who have treated their fans with a dose of double roles in the last few years. Salman recently played a double role in "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", while Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a double role in "Fan". Abhishek Bachchan also played a double role in "Happy New Year".
Among the actresses, Sunny Leone played a double role in her film "Mastizaade", while Kangana Ranaut won several hearts with her double role in "Tanu Weds Manu Returns".
