After the success of Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor's "Baaghi," the makers will now take the franchise ahead and roll out the sequel next year. The Chinese government has reportedly invited the "Baaghi" team to shoot the next part in their country.
"Yes, it's true. It's been a great experience working with director Sabbir Khan, Tiger and Shraddha. The story for our next part needs to be taken ahead. We plan on commencing the shoot in Shanghai in 2017," the Times of India quoted producer Sajid Nadiadwala as saying.
The report suggests that Tiger will be trained by martial art experts from China for the sequel and Sabbir will helm the next part as well. "Shooting with Sajid bhai was a great experience and I'm excited to start work on 'Baaghi 2'," Sabbir said.
Earlier, Sabbir had only hinted that the team was planning a sequel, but now the confirmation has been made. "We just set out to make this one but right now, I would not lie. We have been talking about a sequel just because of the kind of love that we got. It's been a casual conversation though," Sabbir had told IANS.
After making his directorial debut with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer "Kambakkht Ishq," Sabbir turned towards newcomers like Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon for his second film "Heropanti." While the first movie bombed at the box office, "Heropanti" did well commercially.
Released on April 29, "Baaghi" is the film that reunited Sabbir, Sajid and Tiger for a second time. The action-romantic film has impressed fans and has been having a phenomenal run at the box office. Fans will be happy to learn that the makers will come back with a sequel and it will star Tiger, but it has not been confirmed whether Shraddha will be a part of it or not.
