Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha will reunite for Vipul Shah's "Namastey England," which is set to go on floor at the end of this year. However, the director clarified that the upcoming flick is not a sequel or a continuation of Akshay and Katrina Kaif-starrer "Namastey London" (2007).
"Sonakshi will feature in a never-seen-before avatar. We are currently in the pre-production stage. Let me make it clear that our film is not a sequel or a continuation of 'Namastey London'," Vipul Shah told the Times of India. The filmmaker is also producing Sonakshi's upcoming movie "Force 2."
Shah also said the shooting of "Namastey England" will take place in England, Paris, Switzerland, Brussels and Punjab. According to the director, the film will be wrapped up in around six months.
The shooting of the film would have started earlier, but Akshay has to finish "Robot 2" and "Rustom." The 48-year-old actor has a pretty packed calendar, and has also been approached for other projects like "Awara Paagal Deewana 2" and "Welcome 3." However, no official announcement regarding the other projects has been made yet.
On the other hand, Sonakshi is shooting for Abhinay Deo's "Force 2," and will also be seen in AR Murugadoss' "Akira." Additionally, it has been reported that the actress will star in a film based on Saba Imtiaz's popular novel "Karachi, You're Killing Me!" in which she will play a journalist named Noor. And, recently there were reports that she might appear in the remake of 1969's "Ittefaq" opposite Sidharth Malhotra.
Interestingly, the "Tevar" actress and Akshay will come together on screen for the fifth time with "Namastey England." They have appeared together in films like "Rowdy Rathore," "Joker," "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara" and "Holiday." The actress has also done cameo appearances in Akshay's films "OMG! Oh My God" and "Boss."
