Shah Rukh Khan, who has Maneesh Sharma's "Fan" and Rahul Dholakia's "Raees" lined up for release next year, has also been confirmed for Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3".
"How can I do Don without Don? SRK is Don and Don is SRK," Mumbai Mirror quoted Ritesh Sidhwani, Akhtar's friend and business partner. According to reports, the team has finished off half of the scriptwriting and that the superstar has had several meetings over this.
Now, this raises an interesting question whether SRK's co-actress Priyanka Chopra will be pulled onboard for the third installment or will the makers go for another face this time? Considering the news the stars' 'friendship' made last time they worked together, it might just get awkward for them to share the same platform.
However, Akhtar, who has been busy with acting projects had earlier said that a script for "Don 3" cannot be written easily and that he'll need time.
"No, Don 3 is not on my mind as of now. I'm focused on my acting projects. I want to take the franchise forward, but it will take a couple of years before I get down to scripting 'Don 3'. It's not a film that can be worked on in a fortnight. It will take time," Mumbai Mirror quoted the multi-talented star in an interview published on 25 November 2013.
Meanwhile, Khan and Akhtar have both been roped in by Dholakia for "Raees" in which the former will be seen playing a bootlegger while the latter will essay the role of a cop. Also, there's a strong buzz that Sonam Kapoor has been roped in as the lead heroine, who will play as Khan's love interest in the film.
While SRK has begun shooting for "Fan" and has undergone a 3D face scanning for the film in Los Angeles, Akhtar has just wrapped sister Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne do" in which he plays the role of a journalist and ex-boyfriend of Priyanka Chopra's character.
