After weeks of speculations and anticipation, Moto Deutschland (Motorola Germany) has announced on its official Twitter handle that the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play will receive the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update in the next few weeks – before the end of this year to be precise.
The Lenovo-owned company has already seeded Android 7.0 Nougat update to Moto Z and Moto Z Force devices, and the Verizon variant of the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force in the US too have received it but the Moto G4 series is yet to get it despite the company having anounced in a blog post that the handsets would receive it in the fourth quarter of this year.

Motorola had earlier announced in a blog post that it would start rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto Z and Moto G4 devices in the fourth quarter of this year. This made the owners of the device impatient as silence ensued after the OS was seeded to the Moto Z series.
Lenovo has confirmed that Android 7.0 Nougat update will be rolled out to the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, and Nexus 6.
However, the company has surprised many by leaving out the Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X (3rd Gen), Moto G3, Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power in the list of devices eligible to get the firmware update.
