K-pop fans were left in disbelief after South Korean singer HyunA and rookie boy band Pentagon members -- E'Dawn and Yan An -- stated that they will not be a part of the upcoming Incheon K-pop Concert 2018 (INK Concert).
The official website of INK Concert released a statement confirming the news. It read: "Some cast members cannot attend or the number of cast members has been reduced due to internal circumstances of the agency. We apologize for any inconvenience to many fans who have been waiting and look forward to your kind understanding."
INK Concert will be held on 1 September at the Incheon Munhak Stadium.
Meanwhile, several fans of HyunA and E'Dawn expressed their dissatisfaction after the duo confirmed that they have been in a relationship for the past two years. During an interview with Yonhap News, E'Dawn, whose real name Kim Hyo-jong, told the publication: "We know that we will constantly be tagged onto each other's names from now on, but still, we thought that it would be hard to look straight into the eyes of our fans once we got on stage."
"That's why we wanted to be honest at least to our fans who love and watch over us, and then go in front of them with our confidence and joy on stage," he added.
HyunA revealed that they fell in love after working together. She said: "I got to know E'Dawn when he was a trainee and we performed on stage together, and then we started dating in May of 2016. Our relationship continued as we made music together. We were very careful... Even though he's not in the credits, there are many portions in my solo album where E'Dawn helped me with the details."
"It may not be the most realistic, but I thought that admitting would lead to true happiness. I was also worried that it would affect my members, so I told them first. I am very sorry to my fans, but I will repay you with hard work and promotions," she added.
