Sonam Kapoor's brother Harshvardhan Kapoor is set to make his debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Mirziya" this year. Before the release of his first film, the actor has bagged another film offer, replacing Sidharth Malhotra.
Vikramaditya Motwane's superhero flick "Bhavesh Joshi" was initially offered to actors like Imran Khan, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra. But, nobody was finalised, and thus there were reports that the film had been shelved. But now, the news is the director has roped in Harshvardhan for the lead role.
"Scheduled to go on floor this year will be Eros and Phantom's socio-drama superhero film 'Bhavesh Joshi', starring Harshvardhan Kapoor, to be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane," Bollywood Hungama quoted the makers as saying.
Earlier, there were reports that Motwane had roped in Sonakshi Sinha as the lead actress. However, in an interview, the filmmaker denied the reports and said they are still in search of the lead actress of the film. It will be interesting to see who the debutant gets paired with.
"Bhavesh Joshi" is about a Gujarati man with superpowers. It has hit several roadblocks since its inception. Motwane was to start rolling the camera for the film in December 2014, but the change in the cast led to the delay of the project. It is now expected to go on floor soon, with Harshvardhan as the lead.
Currently, Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan is shooting for "Mirziya", opposite another debutant Saiyami Kher. The film portrays the modern version of Mirza-Sahiba's epic love story, and is slated to hit theatres soon.
