Siddharth Nigam became a household name with his portrayal of Emperor Ashok in "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat." As the mythological show readies itself for a leap, the teen actor is preparing to be in "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9."
"Siddharth's stint will soon be over in Ashoka with the leap taking place. Since he already has a great fan following, the makers wanted to cash in on it, and thus signed the young boy for 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9'," Tellychakkar quoted a source as saying. His mom Vibha, confirmed the news to the entertainment portal.
Mastering dance routines shouldn't be a challenge for Siddharth, considering he is a trained gymnast. Also, he's not new to the stage. Siddharth, along with Season 8 winner Faisal Khan, performed to some of Shahid Kapoor's best numbers. Although, it wasn't the best act of the episode, they walked away with praise for attempting daredevil flips.
Siddharth's dedication was such that he juggled practice sessions with his grueling shoot schedules. They rehearsed for their act for three straight days in Karjat, where Siddharth was filming for his TV show.
Interestingly, Sonali Raut and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actress Ruhanika Dhawan may join him on the dance reality show. "There has been a verbal agreement. We are discussing monies now," Sonali told the Times of India.
In other news, the eighth instalment of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" saw some really great artistes transform into dancers. Mohit Malik and Sanaya Irani are two such examples. Judged by Shahid, Malaika Arora Khan, Karan Johar, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb, the show was bit of a dampener but Manish Paul, with his antics, tried to do some damage control.
