Shah Rukh Khan seems to love box office clashes as he began this year with Raees vs Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil and now, he will lock horns with Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. It was earlier reported that SRK's movie has been postponed to avoid the clash.
The recent update is that the big box office clash is still on and both the movies will lock horns in theatres on August 11. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "No postponement... SRK-Anushka starrer, directed by Imtiaz Ali, arriving on 11 Aug 2017, as per schedule. Title not finalised yet..."
"The clash is ON... SRK [Imtiaz Ali film] versus Akshay Kumar [#ToiletEkPremKatha] on 11 Aug 2017," he added.
SRK's untitled movie, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is a love story that will have something creative for viewers to look forward to, while Akshay's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha's storyline also looks interesting. Anushka Sharma will star opposite SRK in Imtiaz's film. Akshay's heroine is Bhumi Pednekar.
Both the movies look promising and fans will hope that they do equally well at the box office. It will be interesting to know what Akshay and Shah Rukh have to say on this big box office clash. However, director Imtiaz Ali recently told Deccan Chronicle: "My job is to make a movie and I do the best I can. I don't look at it as a clash."
SRK's untitled film was earlier titled The Ring, but the name was later said to be changed to Rahnuma. However, the final name of the movie has not been announced yet.
