Recent reports suggest that Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger will make his debut in the Indian film industry with forthcoming Tamil movie "Endhiran 2", which stars Rajinikanth. Now, this piece of information has been confirmed by director Shankar himself.
He told Mumbai Mirror that Arnold is impressed with the storyline and has given his consent to act in the flick.
"Arnold and I discuss a lot of Indian movies. He attended the audio launch of my Vikram starrer, I, and told me that he wanted to work in Tamil films. He was impressed with the storyline of Enthiran 2 and agreed to be a part of the film," the daily quotes the director as saying.
It is not sure when Arnold will begin shooting for the flick. The Hollywood actor will be part of a 25-day schedule and the final dates are being worked out as his portions need to be shot with Rajinikanth, who is currently busy with his next movie "Kabali", directed by Pa Ranjith.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Arnold has been paid a huge sum as remuneration. The buzz is that the makers have given him Rs 100 crore to get him on board. This, if true, will be the biggest pay cheque assigned to an actor in the Indian film industry.
It may be recalled that Shankar had initially approached Aamir Khan for the role but the deal did not materialise for some reason.
On the other end, Amy Jackson has been signed for the movie. This will be her second movie with Shankar after Vikram starrer "I". However, she is not the sole heroine as two more leading actresses are likely to be roped in for the key roles.
"Endhiran 2" is likely to take off on 12 December -- on Rajinikanth's birthday. The project is reportedly bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
