Since past few years, Akshay Kumar has been one of the few to experiment with onscreen roles. The superstar has confirmed "Jolly LLB 2," in which he will play a lawyer.
Talking to Catch News, Akshay said what excited him the most was his role and the fact that he hasn't played a lawyer before. "Jolly LLB 2 is a nice script and I quite liked it. I really liked the directors' (Subhash Kapoor) work and I have never played a lawyer's role ever. It is something that I am going to enjoy," Akshay elaborated.
The sequel will roll on Aug. 15 for a 25-day schedule at Lucknow, after which the unit will head to Varanasi and then wrap it up in Kashmir, the web portal reported. Akshay's character is loosely based on Kanpur-based lawyer Jagdish Mishra.
"Jolly LLB 2" will apparently be the actor's first release of 2017. Rajinikanth's "2.0" and "Namastey England" (if it takes off this year that is) are the other two films, which will arrive in theatres next year.
What's he upto now?
Akshay is busy promoting "Rustom," where he plays a tainted naval officer who killed his wife's lover. The first trailer of the Tinu Suresh Desai-directorial is out and it's gripping.
Because the crime-thriller will be out alongside Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro" on Aug. 12, the makers may have to keep their promotions game on point. Apparently, "Rustom" has two more trailers scheduled for release, one of which may be attached with Salman Khan's "Sultan."
