After months long of speculations, director Rohit Shetty has confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, touted as the best on-screen couple, will star in his upcoming film "Dilwale".
Rohit revealed the details of his film "Dilwale" on his birthday, i.e. on 14 March. He also clarified that the film is not a remake of "Hum" or any other film.
"The film has Shah Rukh Khan with Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi, Johny Lever and Varun (Choocha) Sharma. It is being made by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Rohit Shetty Productions. It is not a remake of any film and will release this Christmas," Rohit told The Times of India.
The "Chennai Express" director said that Shah Rukh-Kajol and Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon are featured in key roles. The film is a wholesome entertainer and like "Chennai Express" it will be a family entertainer.
With "Dilwale" Kajol will be back on silver screen after a gap of five years. Her last film was "We Are Family" released in 2010. The film will be a Christmas treat for fans as the most romantic on-screen couple of Bollywood, Shah Rukh-Kajol, will be back on big screen after a gap of five years.
"I also have the big responsibility of bringing Kajol back after a long time, and pairing her with Shah Rukh. All I can do is work really hard," the director told Hindustan Times.
The shooting of the film will start on 20 March and it will release on Aamir Khan's lucky period, i.e. during Christmas. Varun and Kriti will start the shooting and SRK-Kajol will join them later.
