Ajay Devgn is confident about his second directorial venture, "Shivaay," and has, in most of his recent interviews, maintained how he is unfazed by the competition that Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" may pose for his ambitious film.

Interestingly, he was overheard saying otherwise. "Why would Karan Johar release his film on the same date as mine? I was so confident about 'Shivaay' that I released the trailer two-and-a-half months ago. It is unfortunate that he will affect the distribution of my film," Ajay said, a source told Deccan Chronicle.

Interestingly, this is in stark contrast to his earlier reactions about the box office clash. He had said that he wasn't bothered about anyone else's work and is concentrating on bettering his product, adding that everyone wishes to make profits from long weekends, which is why it is okay to have two releases on a single day.

What else do we know about "Shivaay"?

Shot across Bulgaria, the film bets big on thrill. In the 3-minute trailer, Ajay is shown trekking rocky cliffs and chasing cars. It's a visual spectacle and promises a fun ride. Despite the positives, one cannot be sure if "Shivaay" will outshine "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" at the box office.

"With increased competition, and the division of shows, it won't be easy for us to see the Lagaan-Gadar case repeat itself. In such a scenario, even a slightly negative report can badly affect a film," trade analyst Taran Adarsh told Hindustan Times.

In terms of leading ladies, "Shivaay" has two fresh faces — Erika Kaar and Saiyyeshaa Saigal, while Karan Johar's romantic drama stars Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who definitely are major crowd pullers.

"Shivaay" and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" are scheduled to open in theatres on Oct. 28.
