Taiwanese PC maker Acer on Monday (Jun 3) unveiled its first phablet, Liquid S1, at the ongoing electronics trade fair Computex 2013 in Taipei.
Acer Liquid S sports a mammoth 5.7-inch HD screen having 1280x720p display resolution and runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. It packs 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory which can be further expanded via microSD card.
It is to be noted that the Acer smartphone comes with exclusive Float UI (User-Interface) on top of primary OS Android Jelly Bean just like TouchWiz Nature UX as seen in Samsung Galaxy S4. Acer's Float UI allows users to keep open several app windows at all times so that he/she can multitask without having to close one app to open another. It also features app shortcuts to enable easy access to one's favourite app.
During the launch, Acer has confirmed that Liquid S1 will initially hit markets in Europe including France, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Ukraine, Germany, Russia and later in Spain and Italy for €349 (around ₹25,670) in Q3, 2013.
However, the Taiwanese company is tight-lipped regarding Liquid S1's availability in Asian and other regions.
