The year 2015 witnessed some high-quality shuttle display in both the men and women's competition, and one can expect some quality performances from top shuttlers around the world in 2016 as well.

All eyes will be on some top players, who will be eager to win major competitions like the All England Open, which is the first Super series of the year, in March. Players such as Lin Dan, Chen Long, Jan O Jorgensen, Kento Momota (men's singles players) and Saina Nehwal, Carolina Marin, Wang Shixian (women's singles) are expected to shine in 2016 and entertain crowds world over.

The shuttlers will also have their eyes on other major Super series and Super series premier, such as India Open, Malaysia Open, Indonesia Open, French Open and Australia Open.

All the top shuttlers will be eager to accumulate as many points as possible from such Super series tournaments for a shot at the BWF Destination Dubai World Super series finals in Dubai in December.

However, the Super series Finals is always a prestigious title, but with 2016 being an Olympic year, the elusive Olympic medal will be top priority for shuttlers this calendar year. The 2016 Rio Olympics begin from 5 August while the shuttlers are expected to be in action from 11 to 20 August.
