A report has been registered against Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for allegedly provoking citizens against the country's army and inciting hatred against the forces. The complaint was filed by the Rawalpindi Police on Friday.
According to Dawn News, the case was registered by Advocate Ishtiaq Ahmed Mirza with the Civil Line Police in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, May 4. Mirza claimed that he was the chairman of the IM Pakistan party and that his party was registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The one-page report is not an FIR but a roznamcha, as is called in the local language.
Mirza was quoted by the Pakistani newspaper as saying that he had received a video clip on Whatsapp, which showed Pakistan PM Sharif delivering a speech in which he was allegedly inciting hatred among the citizens against the Pakistani armed forces.
Mirza has said that he wants a case to be registered against the Pakistan PM, who is also the head of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Party.
The Pakistan Army has always been closely involved in the politics of the country and ruled the country for over 33 years.
