Sunil Grover aka Gutthi's return to "Comedy Nights With Kapil" (CNWK) has been making news for quite some time now. And now, after shooting his comeback episode, the actor tweeted: "You know what... I shot for for the show 'Comedy nights with Kapil' today. O fridge!"
Grover, who became immensely popular because of his incredible comic-timing and charming portrayal of village girl Gutthi, had quit in "CNWK" and moved to "Mad in India". But the show, hosted by Manish Paul, fizzled out and Grover's new character Chutki failed to create any stir.
After Grover's exit from "CNWK" last year, rumours were rife that Kapil Sharma had an ego clash with him and that's why he left the show.
According to an India Today report, the issue has apparently been resolved now as Grover shot his comeback episode in "CNWK". But has not commented on this new development yet.
Grover will now be seen playing Bittoo Sharma's (played by Kapil Sharma) father-in-law. The interaction between the two characters will be an interesting watch as Bittoo never misses a chance to slam his father-in-law. In most of his gags, Bittoo calls on his wife Manju (Sumona Chakravarti) and jokes about her dad's financial crunches.
Although Gutthi and her sense of humour will be missed, fans of the show will be glad to know that Grover - one of their favourite comedians - is back.
"Comedy Nights with Kapil" have had a successful run so far and is nearing its 100th episode. Apart from Sharma, the show stars renowned TV actors Ali Asgar (as Dadi), Upasana Singh (as Pinky Bua), Kiku Sharda (as Palak) and Chandan Prabhakar (as Raju).
