Sunil Grover who has recently made a comeback on "Comedy Nights With Kapil" as Manju's (Sumona Chakravarti) father, will apparently be back to play Gutthi.
"Gutthi and Palak (Kiku Sharda) will reunite and try to woo Akshay Kumar who will be appearing on the show to promote his film "Entertainment", Daily News & Analysis quoted a source.
Grover, who was convincing as Kapil's father-in-law in the show's 100th episode, was received well by the audience. After the massive response, the actor posted on Twitter, "Thanks everyone for the response and welcoming me back on the show #ComedyNightsWithKapil. Eid Mubarak."
"Gutthi had a good chemistry with Akshay when he had come on the show earlier. So we thought we should get Gutthi back for the Akshay episode. Even Gutthi and Ranbir Kapoor were good together, so when he comes on the show, she will be back," added the source.
Post Grover's exit, Palak (Kiku Sharda), Daadi (Ali Asgar) and Pankhuri (Kiku Sharda) have delivered genuine laughs through their perfectly-timed gags. While they were received well by the audience, Gutthi's presence was sorely missed.
Now that the ace comedian is back on the show, the makers have reportedly decided on bringing Gutthi back. But reports suggest, they are confused if they should bring Gutthi back permanently or only occasionally.
While the confusion remains to be solved, Grover, as the cash-strapped whacko father-in-law, has stirred an interest in the audience and will hopefully continue to do the same.
"Comedy Nights with Kapil" hosted by Kapil Sharma have had a successful run so far and has completed 100 episodes. Apart from Asgar, Sharda and now Grover, the show is supported by Upasana Singh (as Pinky Bua) and Chandan Prabhakar (as Raju).
