Comedian Kapil Sharma is set to bid adieu to his popular show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" with his team of entertainers. They shot their last episode recently with guest Akshay Kumar, who appeared on the show to promote his film "Airlift".
The entire team got emotional in the last episode of the show. Sunil Grover aka Gutthi started crying when the audience asked him to sing his signature song. "Thank you all for giving us so much love. I am going to miss this. This was the best phase of my life and I don't know if this is going to come back. Thank you very much," he told the fans.
However, Kapil didn't want to get emotional and didn't want to spoil the last moment, but it seems they could not control their feelings of saying goodbye. "We all knew it was the last episode, but we decided not to sob or feel bad. We decided there would be no announcement about the show ending. Kapil didn't want to spoil the last moment," a source told The Times Of India.
It had earlier been reported that the team of "Comedy Nights With Kapil" would have their last episode aired on 17 January. Kapil would be replaced by "Comedy Nights Bachao" host Krushna Abhishek, and the show's name would be changed to "Comedy Nights".
The reason behind Kapil's exit is his conflict with the top brass of Colors channel. His entire "family" of entertainers is leaving "Comedy Nights With Kapil" (CNWK) with him, but Navjot Singh Sidhu will stay on.
In other news, there have been speculations that Kapil will start his new show with Grover and Kiku Sharda, who was arrested for mimicking religious leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. "As 'CNWK' ends on Colors, negotiations are on for the entire team to move to Star. Everyone is supporting Kapil," TOI quoted a source as saying.
"Comedy Nights With Kapil" has been one of the most loved comedy shows on television, generating huge TRPs for the channel. Fans, including several Bollywood celebrities, are quite disappointed with Kapil and his team's exit.
