The bang with which "Comedy Nights With Kapil" started, began to fade away with time. Funny-man Kapil Sharma's film deals, Sunil Grover's exit, recurring jokes and such pushed the show into a bottomless pit of controversy. But with it airing once a week since January, the buzz around it has been phenomenal.
Possibly to better it, the makers are reportedly going for a leap which will add 'freshness' to the show. And like the other daily soaps, a few drastic changes will be made in the lives of the characters.
According to a Bollywood Life report, Dadi (Ali Asgar) is set to lose her memory, Bua (Upasana Singh) to win a lottery to become a millionaire, and Gutthi (Sunil Grover) to run her own beauty parlour. Palak (Kiku Sharda) apparently will be a proud owner of a designer store, and Manju (Sumona Chakravarti) will have a job. The only person to remain unaffected by the leap is said to be Kapil.
"The leap is to bring freshness to the story. On the left side will be Gutthi's (Sunil Grover) parlour and the kitchen will make way for a tailor shop, which will be run by Palak or Pankhudi (both played by Kiku Sharda)," a source told The Times of India.
Meanwhile, Kapil recently injured his back on the sets of his debut film "Kis Kissko Pyar Karun". He was advised bed rest and had been undergoing physiotherapy sessions for it to heal faster as he just has two more songs to shoot before full-fledged promotions begin.
"I was on bed-rest for quite a while. The injury took place when I went to Rajasthan to shoot a song for my film. I overdid the work-out. Aisa nahin karna chahiye tha.Everything must be in moderation. I'm healing now," Sharma told DNA in an interview from a week ago.
