Another major tragedy hit Kapil Sharma's popular TV show "Comedy Nights with Kapil" ("CNWK"). A massive fire broke out at 9:30 am on Friday morning at a building in Andheri, Mumbai, where Sharma's editing studio is located.
Last September, the original sets of "CNWK" was gutted down by a massive fire causing several damages to the set. It was burnt to such an extend that the set had to be replaced completely with a new look.
The news of the fire break at the Lotus Business Park building was reported to the creative director of the show, Preeti Simoes at around 11 am. The cause of the incident is not yet known.
"Our edit room is on the sixth floor of the building. Though fire fighters have told us that the fire won't reach our floor and that it will be controlled before that, we are worried as all our footage is there. We have a big weekend with Virat Kohli and the Pathan brothers (Irfan and Yusuf) episode and the master of the episode should have been out today." Times of India quoted Simoes.
"My major concern is that the footage of this episode isn't damaged. We will know the exact status in a few hours. I received the call informing me about the fire at around 11 am. The tape, which has Kohli's episode, is in the studio. Fingers crossed," Simoes added.
Simoes took to her Twitter handle worrying about the TV show's upcoming footages that are in the building.

The fire initially broke out on the 21st floor of the Lotus building and later spread to the 20th floor. Firefighters were immediately rushed to the spot to set the flame to rest, reported Mid-Day.
"We got a call at around 11 am that a fire has broken out in the commercial building. We initially thought it was a grade-1 fire and sent four fire tankers to the spot. The fire was then upgraded to grade 2 and we have now deployed 12 fire engines and nine water tankers at the site," said a fire brigade official.
Though there has been no report of any civilian casualties, one firefighter had reportedly died and many are severely injured in the incident.
On 25 September 2013, the set of "CNWK" was razed down by a massive fire that broke out in the Goregaon Film City in Mumbai. It took almost five hours for the fire tenders to bring the situation under control. Short circuit was suspected to have triggered the blaze back then.
In related news, on 29 April, the sets of the popular mythological serial "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev" blazed causing several crores worth of damage. The incident occurred at Poman village near Vasai, Maharashtra. Four fire engines arrived on the sets to bring the fire under control. The costumes of the entire cast and equipment worth crores were destroyed. But the lead actors of the serial and the entire cast and crew escaped unhurt.
