Comedian Kapil Sharma shares a good rapport with A-list Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and others. Salman, Shah Rukh, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut and other celebrities have often promoted their films on Kapil's show "Comedy Nights With Kapil".
However, Salman recently ditched "Comedy Nights With Kapil" and promoted his film "Hero" on "Comedy Nights Bachao", which has reportedly irked Kapil.
And now Kapil has decided to go ahead with the show with the comic lineup.
"Week after week, there will be a gallery of guest artistes adding to the humour. Kapil won't rely on Bollywood stars to take the humour forward," DNA quoted an insider as saying.
Last week, Gauahar Khan, Himani Shivpuri and Suresh Menon attended the show as guests. And in the upcoming episodes viewers will get to see more comic talent and less Bollywood celebrities, the leading daily reported.
"Kapil was very hurt when Salmanbhai decided to go on the new show. Kapil will now prove that his show doesn't need any Bollywood help to sustain its humour," a member of Kapil's CN team told DNA.
Salman promoted his film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" on the sets of "Comedy Nights With Kapil", but for "Hero" starring Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty he preferred "Comedy Nights Bachao".
"Ever since CNWK started, Salman has come on Kapil's show to promote every film of his. Now suddenly he has gone to CNB to promote Hero with Sooraj Pancholi and Aathiya Shetty because his brother Sohail is associated with the comic actors on CNB. It's a big blow for Kapil's ego. On his show, the very next night Salman would be conspicuous by his absence," DNA quoted a source as saying.
