Ever since Kapil Sharma announced a break from his popular TV show "Comedy Nights with Kapil" as he has been advised bed rest, the fate of the comedy show has been uncertain.
However, show makers have now decided to give the show a makeover and introduce a new concept for a month, by bringing in four Bollywood celebs on-board the show during Kapil's absence.
The first celebrity to host "Comedy Nights with Kapil" is director-producer Karan Johar.
"The channel was contemplating if other characters should also be given a break while they work out a fresh concept. However, they decided to run, but rope in four big names as hosts. So far, only Karan has been finalised," a source told Hindustan Times.
"Comedy Nights with Kapil" that airs on Colors channel revolves around Kapil's onscreen family who indulge in a lot of pranks to entertain the viewers.
The comedy entertainer has been one of the top shows on Indian television with high TRP ratings since it aired in 2013. It is considered as a healthy, clean and fun entertainer for all to watch irrespective of age groups. Kapil's tongue-in-cheek humour even amuses the celebrity guests, who appear on the show to promote their films.
It now remains to be seen if Karan and the other celebs are able to bring humour to the show and engross its viewers like that of the funny man.
