Comedian Kapil Sharma will soon bid adieu to popular show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" with his family of entertainers. Earlier, the buzz was that the show will go off-air, but now it is reported that Kapil could be replaced by "Comedy Nights Bachao" host Krushna Abhishek.
The recent buzz is that the name of the show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" (CNWK) will be changed after host Kapil leaves the show. Instead, it will just be called "Comedy Nights," DNA reported. The report also suggests that the entire family along with Kapil will quit, but Navjot Singh Sidhu has decided to stay on.
The reason behind the exit is the conflict between the makers of Colors channel and Kapil. According to Kapil and his team members, the channel was promoting and giving more importance to the other show "Comedy Nights Bachao".
"We were told that the new show will be called 'Roast'. However, it was titled 'Comedy Nights Bachao', which is often mistaken for Comedy Nights With Kapil. It also looked like a clone as whatever happened in Kapil's show was replicated on Bachao," The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
"Yes, it's true. We told them we would go off air in December, but since they didn't have a replacement ready, they requested us to continue till January 17. We started on a good note and put in immense hard work to maintain the quality," Kapil told the leading daily.
"Comedy Nights With Kapil" has been one of the most loved comedy shows on television, generating huge TRP for the channel. Whether Kapil's exit will affect the show's popularity or not, is something that will be known only after 17 January when the "CNWK" team says goodbye.
