Kapil Sharma is all set to return to the small screen with his new show "The Kapil Sharma Show" 9 p.m. April 23 on Sony Television. Reports suggest that rival channel Colors TV has made special changes in its schedule to sabotage the comedian's first episode of his new show.
Kapil Sharma and his erstwhile "Comedy Nights With Kapil" team had a fallout with Colors TV, after which the comedian had decided to wrap up the popular show and disassociate himself from the channel. Now, Kapil and his team is ready to start a TRP fight with Krushna Abhishek's "Comedy Nights Bachao" that is aired on 10 p.m. Saturdays. "The Kapil Sharma Show" will also be aired on 9 p.m. Saturdays.
However, Colors TV will not air "Comedy Nights Bachao" April 23 and instead, the show will be replaced by "Bajirao Mastani," which will premiere on the small screen that day, according to SpotboyE. The report also said that "Bajirao Mastani," which happens to be one of the biggest blockbusters, will be telecast on the channel without a single break.
Such major changes to the schedule usually take place during some special occasions, hence this step by Colors TV seems to have been made with the intention to prevent viewers from watching Kapil's new show. "The Kapil Sharma Show" will include Ali Asgar, Sunil Grover, Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda and Chandan Prabhakar and the team is apparently not bothered about the rival channel's tactics to sabotage its new show's TRP.
"They can air 'Bajirao Mastani' one Saturday. But what are they going to do every week after that? Nobody can sustain these kind of attacks," SpotboyE quoted a team member as saying. The relationship between Kapil and Colors TV had turned sour after the former felt that the channel was favouring Krushna Abhishek's "Comedy Nights Bachao" at the cost of "Comedy Nights with Kapil." He had alleged that the content of his show was being repeated on Krushna's show, indirectly affecting the uniqueness of the older show.
