At least five people died while two others got injured after a cloudburst triggered due to heavy rainfall hit the Pauri region in Uttarakhand on Monday.

The injured have been admitted in a local hospital. The Pauri-Srinagar route has been blocked due to the cloudburst.
Team of officials and rescue workers from the Uttarakhand Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have rushed to the spot. Rescue operation is underway.
The incident happened in the Garhwal division's Markhola area. The deceased reportedly belong to one family. According to media reports, their house was razed to the ground when large boulders rolled down a hill due to the cloudburst.
The house belonged to 75-year-old Dipak Singh and the families of his two sons, Pauri District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Bhatt told reporters. Heavy rains have triggered floods in several parts of the country including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met local residents in flood-hit city of Rewa. He said that the government had called in the NDRF, SDRF teams as well as the Army as a precautionary measure.
