Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri toasted his clubs Premier League title victory with a glass of champagne on 5 May. At his first press conference since the Foxes sealed their league victory, when Chelsea drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur on 2 May, Ranieri held a flute up to media members thatgathered to applaud him and his team.
The result at Stamford Bridge means Leicester City, who were given odds of 5,000-1 at the start of the season, are the champions of England for the first time in the clubs history. Tottenham trail the Foxes by 7 points with two games to go.
Manager Claudio Ranieri did not attend the players party on the 2 May, instead flying back to Italy to take his mother for lunch, before returning to England in time to watch the match on TV at home.
[My emotion] it was at the maximum. At the maximum level, he told reporters on his arrival at the training ground. I feel good, you can imagine, he said the next day on his way to team training.
