Six shootings were reported in Washington DC on Wednesday, ahead of Christmas, including two separate cases where police shot suspected robbers, leaving one dead.
A woman was shot in a separate shooting outside a restaurant in Columbia Heights on Wednesday evening, and she later succumbed to her injuries. Another shooting was reported from the same area later in the night, where a man was found with gunshot wounds.
Another shooting was reported at 9 pm local time on Wednesday in Barry Farm, where the police found an unconscious victim, according to NBC Washington.
The sixth shooting was reported from near Trinidad.
Homicide detectives have been notified over the shootings, which left the capital city shocked on Christmas eve.
